Card shuffling and random dealing of cards... how can I be sure that the games are fair and no player has an unfair advantage over any other player.
Poker Joint has spared no expense into making sure that all cards dealt will be in a random fashion, actually better than cards shuffled by humans, since it is a well known fact that if human dealers do not completely and accurately shuffle the cards, that card clumping can and will occur. With our procedures, this card clumping does not occur. These issues are discussed on our Integrity and Random Number Generation pages.
Is Poker Joint software unique or do other poker sites license the same software?
Our software has been created by world-class programmers along with the assistance of professional poker players enabling Poker Joint to offer exactly the type of poker action that poker players want, whether beginner or higher limit players. This software is licensed to multiple poker sites.
If I can't find the file that I downloaded. What should I do?
If you have downloaded the software but can't find the icon, please print and follow these instructions.
Click on Start->Find->Files or Folders and then type in Poker JointSetup.exe in the Named: box. In the Look in: box, click and select All Drives. Now click [Find Now]. When Poker JointSetup.exe appears in the results box, double-click on it and the installation will begin.
Do I need to keep the install file on my computer once I've got the software up and running?
No, you can delete it. Software upgrades are done automatically. You should never need to run the install program on that computer again.
I downloaded the software without actually "running" it. Now what?
You need to install the software. Using the Windows Explorer to display the folder to which you downloaded the software, click on the Poker JointSetup.exe icon to begin the installation.
How can I start playing right now?
Click on download the free software. When you are in the lobby, click on any table and click on any seat that says "sit down". You will be given the option to create a new account. This account can be a play money account (no money or credit cards involved) or real money account, depending on which type of game that you would like to play.
It costs you absolutely nothing to download the software and create a free money account. Our instructions will guide you quickly through the process even if you have no prior knowledge of downloading computer programs.
How do I select the type of poker game and which table I want to sit at?
In the lobby, click one of the game tabs to select between each type of game. The available tables for each game are listed vertically -- simply double-click on the table you wish to join, or press the Go to Table button once you have selected a table from the list.
If a table is empty, can I sit down?
Yes. Take a seat, but you will have to wait for other players to arrive before you can play.
How does the wait list feature work when a table is full?
If a table you select is currently full, press the Wait button and you will be added to the wait list. The lobby screen will show you where you are on the list. For example, "2 of 5" means that you are second on the list of the five people that are waiting. When a seat becomes available, you will automatically be notified. You may then take or pass the seat.
How does the wait list feature work when a table is empty?
If there are no current players available for a selected game, press the wait button and select the minimum number of players you wish to play against. When a new game with enough players is ready to start, you will automatically be notified. In the mean time, you can play a different game at a different table while you wait.
Can players request a seat change?
At this time, the only way to change your seat is to leave the table and log back in to this table and choose the seat that you prefer. If there is a waiting list, this will be impossible. Poker Joint is working on programming which will allow players to opt for a seat change. This option, once programmed will be in a later client version of software.
What does Avg Pot and Plrs/Flp in the Lobby mean?
Avg Pot is the average pot size for the last 20 hands. Plrs/Flp is the percentage of players, averaged over the last 20 hands that "see the flop". See the features section for more details.
If there are no players on the waiting list, you may quit the game and return to lobby and enter your game again, this time picking your preferred seat. If there is a waiting list, the software will not allow you to change seats which also prevents against players who might try skipping blinds etc. Poker Joint is currently programming the software to enable players to request a seat change, but will only be available in a later client version of the software.
How do I know how much is in the pot?
The chips are clearly stacked and are easily read. In addition, you can move your mouse over top the pot and hover text will display the exact figure. You also may opt for the pot to always show the amount. Poker Joint also allows players to click the check box above the dealer chip rack.
How do I obtain a history of certain hands that I have played?
In the lobby in the "Tools" menu, click on "Hand History". You will be given a choice of requesting either your last several hands, or a specific game. You will automatically receive an e-mail giving you the exact history of your selected hand(s).
What rake will you charge at the real money tables?
Please see the rake section on our Real Money page.
How long will it take to credit back my credit card when I cash out?
Recent changes to Visa's policy have made it no longer possible to credit back to Visa credit cards. Your cashouts will be processed to NETeller, CentralCoin, FirePay, or check instead, depending on which method you choose at the time you make your cashout request.
How long will it take to receive a check when I cash out?
Depends on how you choose to receive the check, typically 15 business days.
Does it cost anything to play at the play money tables?
No.
What information do I need to give to open my initial play money account?
To start with free money tables, you are only required to enter your name, city and e-mail address. You then get to select your own User ID and password. You do not have to enter any information about credit card or other forms of payment until you decide to play for real money.
Can I see what the game looks like before I join?
Sure. Simply download the free software and you will be able to examine our lobby area and even go to tables and watch real people playing against each other. Or you can take a quick tour which shows what our table graphics look like and an explanation of our function buttons.
How many play chips do you get with play money?
All new players receive 1,500 play chips. If you run out of play money chips, you can get more by clicking on the Need More Chips button when you attempt to buy-in. Good luck, and let's see how good your poker skills are!
I'm connected to the Internet through a firewall. What do I need to do to play?
In rare cases you may have to disable the firewall.
What happens if the Internet disconnects or my computer freezes?
If you are disconnected during a hand, the software will automatically attempt to re-connect you to the Internet and return you back to your table. If you return in time, you will find yourself still in your same seat with the other players waiting for you to continue the hand as if you had never left.
What is happening when I sometimes experience a slow or interrupted connection?
Poker Joint internet connections operate on some of the very best fiber optic lines available for internet gaming. Our servers also operate with gigabyte technology increasing the speed even further. What Poker Joint cannot do anything about is the connection that each player's provider provides. If this connection has high traffic from time to time, then connection freezes may occur. The only solution for this problem if it happens very often would be to obtain a cable or DSL connection.
Who can answer my other technical questions?
